Gen AI

Some of the experiments I made in the past few years

My stand/feelings on Gen AI
(Feb-20-2026)

Disclaimer:
– Keep in mind that English is not my native language.
– This text only is the best way I managed to express my opinion at the time of writing. I don’t pretend to have the truth and I don’t stick to the ideas I have like identities. My opinion will continue to evolve and I’ll try to keep this text up to date.
– When I talk about AI I’m talking specifically about generative neural networks algorithms for images and videos unless specified otherwise.

First of all and to better understand the rest, I think it’s important to be clear about what is my intention behind The Rope Dude. (I’ve said it a lot of time but it’s scattered around the internet)
My intention has always been to make porn that I would want to watch, to create things that turn me on. To do what I enjoy, what I have fun making and to share it for free so that anyone who is interested can enjoy it as well, just as I enjoy what many other creators do and share.
I started a Patreon/Substar so that people who want me to keep playing around and sharing, without having to look for a “real” job instead, can do so.

About what drives me (except hornyness XD):
– One of the many things that keeps me motivated is curiosity and experimentation. I love to explore things I’ve never tried before, never seen or not in a satisfying way to me, things that can help me to explore some of my kinks or show them in a new light.
That led to all the rope work/capture in almost all my movies, the French kiss between Lara and Tifa, the magic strap-on for Tifa, the tape bondage and the hanging in Mei’s invasion, the Goo in TA and MC, the breast physics in MC, the tentacle in the bath in TA, the violent ring-gagged oral in Lara’s Hell…
– Another motivator is the pleasure to build my universe and share it through the narrative part of my stories.
– Of course all the nice comments and encouragements are also a big source of motivation so thanks a lot for all this 😊.

About 3D.
I do 3D porn not because I love 3D but because I love porn. I don’t consider 3D as my creative identity as a creator but it’s an amazing tool that allow me to do amazing things, I master it pretty well and I’m comically bad at drawing XD (and other tools that could do the work).
Also, I do “3D art” but my process also includes image editing (Photoshop/Krita), video editing/compositing (DaVinci Resolve/After Effect) and a lot of thinking.
As a 3D artist, I’ve always leaned more on the technical side and in a lot of ways I think more like a programmer than an artist. Like most programmers I’m curious, lazy and I have an open source culture so if I find a new open source tool to do the same thing as before but faster I’ll be happy ^^.
I want to use and combine the best tools for what I want to make and I want them to be as open source as possible. Everything I use now (including AI tools) is open source except DaVinci Resolve (but there is a free version that is very good).

About AI.
There are many reasons why I started to play with AI tools and started to integrate it im my workflow and here are some.
– Because I enjoy playing with it and seeing what I can do with it.
– Because it’s an amazing tool that has an amazing potential.
– Because it’s a lot faster than anything else I know on certain tasks.
– Because it allows me to play and tell stories of many more characters in many more spaces than what I’m restricted to with 3D.
– Because the tech is here, it’s improving fast and I’m pretty sure that in 1 or 2 years, anybody with the right skills and knowledge to efficiently use the AI tools that will be available then, will be able to make the equivalent of Mei’s Corruption (length and quality) in about 6 months/1 year where it took me 3 years. I want to be able to do that so I can make and share more porn and stories I love. (And hopefully continue to make a living out of it because I don’t think that a lot of people (some would for sure 💚) will still support my 5min of video every 3 months if 100 other people make 10 time this at the same quality level.)
Of course you can disagree on my prediction but keep in mind that I have a bachelor in art (3D infography), I’ve been working in the video game and animation series industry for 5 years, I’ve been making 3D porn for 6 years, I’ve been following the progress of tech in my domain for all this time and I’ve been playing a lot with AI tools since 2022/2023. Again, I could be wrong for many reasons but that’s my bet.

About quality.
First of all, of course AI is not a silver bullet and it has many technical flaws, for now, including “quality” (understood as a very general concept I’m not gonna define here). Most AI stuff can be spotted as such but it’s not gonna last very long (it’s already not the case anymore with some images if you know how to use the latest models correctly).
Maybe I’m starting to use it a bit too early but I think it will pay off and if I’m wrong and the improvements stops, I’ll go back to “full 3D” XD.
I truly appreciate the high quality and standards a lot of people seem to associate to my humble work with 💚 but I think you can understand that this can also feel like a cage and a burden and I sometimes need to create freely. I need to allow myself to make shitty stuff without the mental/time burden of “it needs to be perfect”. I love making very polished and detailed stuff but to keep the furnace of creativity burning I need to experiment, I need to test, I need to explore other things, styles, tools, characters… And if I let my perfectionism talk in these times I just can’t do it and I end up incapable of doing anything due to the very high cost everything is gonna take. (If everything you make HAS to be perfect, you’ll just end up being paralyzed and not doing anything because it’s too hard.)
Perfectionism is a burden I must escape from time to time for it not to destroy my motivation and ability to create.
I literally have dozens of very small shitty unfinished projects on my computer that I’ll never post, but that I need to make to stay motivated and creative. I’ve always made these kinds of projects but AI tools make them a lot less crappy and faster to make, so sometimes it makes me wonder if I should share them just in case it might interest some people. So one of the difficulties I face is, what do I share and when do I press the “good enough” button?
I know this is a me problem, I’m not complaining, these are very minor problems a lot of people would love to have instead of theirs. I’m just trying to explain how I try to keep “The Rope Dude” engine running as long as possible.

About the art style.
That’s an interesting question.
I feel like “TRD art style” is more a consequence of the tools I use, not something I’m particularly attached to.
But I can understand that from an external point of view, what we (myself included) expect from an artist in this field is at least visual consistency. So I’ll keep that in mind and make some efforts on that matter.

About the Ethics problems.
First of all keep in mind that I use only open source/weights models that I run locally on my own computer. And I am absolutely in favor of political regulation on this broad subject.

About the environmental issue.
As I said earlier, I run everything locally so I don’t make data-centers run for me (when I generate) and my impact is mostly my hardware and the electricity I consume (on the French grid = low CO2 + It replaces my heater when it’s cold outside XD). Making 3D renders and simulations with Blender also consumes the exact same resources. Although it is likely that the training of AI models consumes more resources than the crafting of Blender (I might be wrong though).
Anyway I know my very existence as a human in a rich society has a bad impact on the environment and on other peoples in mostly poorer countries. I try to live a life where I use resources where I need/really want and be as frugal as possible/consume as responsibly as I can on the rest and support environmental projects.

About the “built on unauthorized material” issues.
It’s as true for images and videos as it is for text (all chatbots), audio, music etc… and I think it’s not right or at least that there should be laws to regulate these practices.
But me not using it is not gonna make the life of any other spoiled artist better.
On a personal note I feel like one of the worst use cases of that tech (outside of disinformation) is copying straight up the style of existing artists and not even giving them credit (or even worse, impersonating them).

About replacement of artists.
On a general note, I feel like we (as a species) are literally crafting intelligence, the very thing that makes us special as humans, we are making every single one of us irrelevant in the “making stuff we want” category.
On the “destroying jobs” side, I was 1, I’m still 1 and as long as I can afford it, I still intend to pay/make other creative people work for audio (VA, SD, Music) or other small projects I don’t have the time to work on (KKP).

About influence.
I understand that as a known artist I have some power/responsibility on the perceptions and normalization of AI.
This is one of the main reasons why I took the time to write this text and why I don’t hide what tool I use in my productions.
I genuinely think that there are far better ways than others to use this technology so I indeed want to help normalize the general use of Open Source tools and solutions and the inherent horizontality that goes with it (more peer to peer). I also want to make the best quality I can to show what we can extract from these tools if we put the time and effort to use them correctly so we can raise our standards on that matter.
I also know I’m “big enough” to take some hits in the stead of other smaller artists that would want to try and play with this stuff as well.

About the work.
Using language and references to explain and describe what should happen in a scene to specialized workers, guiding and correct different tries and propositions, having the global picture of what the final product should be like and try to make every piece of the puzzle match and go in the right direction sounds a lot like film/art director to me. (I know it’s not a perfect comparison but I feel like it’s pretty close)
Director is a job that have always existed in this domain, it just wasn’t available without thousands of dollars until now. Like for animation, before digitalisation you had to have a bunch of workers (called “intervalistes” in French) whose job was to draw the in-between images in a sequence where the key frames were made by the animators, there were people to colorize etc… In another time I could have been intervalliste and be a small part of a team making 2 seconds of black and white animation per day. Now I can make +/-2 times this of finished video all alone (with 3D softwares).
For now, what has evolved in my work is that the time I spend as a Director has gone up and the time I spend as a technician has gone down, but my overall working time has not changed. (And so far it make the pain in my arm and shoulder come less often and make it easier/faster to relief (because of the working position).

To my dear fellow creators.
If you have read everything and still think that what I do is wrong, I understand. I’m sorry we disagree but I still genuinely wish that you will be able to continue your work as you like it and make enough out of it to continue as long as you want.
If you are curious about these tools and want to learn more, have some insight on how /for what tasks you can use them, I will be glad to help you.
As said previously, AI is not one thing, it’s a multitude of many different tools for many different things and I’ve been following these technologies closely for a long time so maybe I can help ^^.
(Quick list of the different functions/tools I know exist in the field right now (I haven’t tested all of them) : Text to Image, image to image, reference to image, text to video, image to video, image editing, first and last images to video, reference to video, audio to video, video to video, video editing, text to 3D (model/texture), image to 3D, 3D editing, text to 3D animation, video to 3D animation.)

Thank you to everyone who took the time to offer intelligent criticism and with whom I was able to have some respectful and constructive discussion on the subject.

Sorry if I don’t answer everyone, I try to manage my time and prioritize my mental health.

On a personal level one thing I love about AI tools is that it allows many more people to show what they have in their mind without having to spend a lot of time and/or money to do so. Which can be both a good or a bad thing but I’ve seen some “low quality” AI stuff that blew my mind because of how creative it was, I saw how it extended the availability of porn in some very specific and overlooked niches of kinks or characters for example.
Also it’s one more tool for people who don’t like/can’t do the others, like I’m very bad at drawing so if 3D hadn’t existed, you would never have seen what is in my head 😜 .

So yeah, I use AI and other tools that I feel are the best to make the porn I want to make and share it freely to everyone, and I try to do it in the most ethical way possible (use of free and open source models, don’t try to copy the style of other artists, run everything locally, try to train a model on my own creations (WIP)…). If you don’t want to watch what I share or support me for this reason, I have no problem with that, there are plenty of amazing creators who don’t use these tools and need visibility and support 😉.

(Everything before and including Mei’s Corruption is 0 AI (Except Lara special Halloween 2025). Everything after has at least a little bit of AI in the process.)

Thank you a lot for reading everything ^^.

Take care 💚
